I think its one thing to say "They turned in their card", and another to say, "They threw their card down and walked out" (implying a temper tantrum). The former states a fact (which in this case, is a lie), and the latter states a fact (lie), with characterization, implying immaturity and maybe a hot temper on the part of the minister, neither of which is a desirable Christian attribute.
So. Stating a lie as a fact is bad enough, but then when you throw in the characterization and colorful details, it colors the character of the person being talked about.
Do you two know what defamation of character is? Its simply a lie about a person or entity stated as a fact. Stating opinions doesn't count, but when you tell something untrue as if it is, you have crossed the line into Defamation of Character.
It really takes so little to be above average... MissBrattfield, thanks for giving the obvious answer!
Does any one have any facts on who is preaching in Tulsa and will they share them?
Why do OP's always just get together and preach to one another? Can't they sit down and talk things out? It is amazing to me, even during the business meeting at GC there was preaching. Preaching is not the answer to everything is it?
Sorry, Joseph but your post just bought that to mind. I have no idea who is preaching in Tulsa, or if anyone is, maybe they are just going to talk?

I think that preaching is in order anytime that we get together. I also believe that there is power in anointed preaching that can do more than just talking.

Don't you think Bro. Paul, did a bit of anointed talking in the epistles? I love to interact with a small group of believers and talk about scripture, how God is at work in our lives. Yeah, I also love good expository preaching that draws out the depth of the Word. But I don't get much out of the opinions of many preachers, because after 57 years of it, there is not anything new under the sun.
