Worry Worry Worry..........

My wife has been on my case the last few days saying "You worry to much". Of course I think I worry about as much as everyone else. I will admit I do worry a good bit more then I use to.

So what do you do to quit worrying?

Think about Jesus and not your problems

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I don't know what you do to stop worrying. I used to worry about everything and everyone. And now I don't... *shrugs*

Look at all that God has blessed me with for which I can be thankful. I could never thank Him enough, but when I'm done trying, I'm full of the Holy Ghost. Which ain't bad medicine neither.

Serenity Prayer

I know it's a poem/prayer that is on everything from cups to cards to plaques, but for many years I have stopped when faced with situations that might cause me to worry and have prayed...

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.

Sometimes it takes some real looking at the issue to decide the things that I can do something about and the things that I can't do anything about.

I recently also came across this:

If you can solve your problem then what is the need of worrying?
If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

And I just simply trust and look back through my life at all the other times God has brought me through. As one song says ... "I've been through enough to know He'll be enough for me"

My Dad always said, Worrying is like rocking in a rocking chair, it gives you something to do but it doewsn't get you anywhere. It is a true statement but I can tell you I have done my share of worrying. I have thought in the past that worrying seems to be a "woman" thing. But I have come to realize that men do it as well, they just don't tell everyone about it. lol . I try to put my trust in the One who knows all. And I think most of the time I succeed in doing that but there are times when life does seem to overwhelm me and I slip and worry. There is s song that comes to mind that helps me on those days:

I'm trusting into the unseen hand
That guides me thru this dreary land
And some sweet day
I'll reach that strand
Still guided by His unseen hand

My Husband is also a worrier and unfortunately just this year my 6 year old has started worrying until it is almost an obsession type behavior..
However Mrs. Boomm's song made me think of the song that I sing to Myriah at night as she is falling asleep, it was written by Rev Don Johnson.

God's face is turned towards me,
He sees me and He knows what I need.
In this dark hour when I can hardly see,
God's face is turned towards me.

When I began to get concerned or worried about situations in my life I remember that "all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord". God has his face towards us at all times, he is continually looking out for our best interest and I trust that he is in control.
