I don't know that a lie ever is. Sometimes, though, not telling everything or being vague may make sense--but intentionally telling a falsehood is listed as a sin in the Bible.

Do you think this could be interpreted: "gave his word to his own hurt, but kept it anyway"?
Since when does someone else not having integrity mean I should not uphold mine?
