I have always said that the pathway of mercy paves the way to sufficient grace that allows us to embrace the fullness of HIM, the Truth!

His answer: The one that did not get pregnant received Mercy, the one that did received Grace to go through the pregnacy.

What do you think?
Not! It is not by grace that the one girl got pregnant, it was by sin that she got pregnant and pregnancy is a consequence of her sin. As for the one who didn't get pregnant, it is neither grace nor mercy because God was not a participant in her sin.

Grace is God giving us what we (in a good sense) don't deserve, i.e. God condescending toward us to act on our behalf even though we don't deserve it.

Mercy is God not giving us what we (in a bad sense) deserve, i.e. God refrains, at least for the Christian, from punishing us for our sins.

Well I figured you knew that God was not in the sin.

I would have thought you would have known better than to cite an example that suggests He was in the sin.

As usual you take things out of context.

The context was: "A friend of mine said the Lord gave him this example of the difference between Mercy and Grace." Here was the example:

"Two young girls get caught in fornication. One gets pregnant and the other doesn't.

Which one received Mercy and which received Grace?

His answer: The one that did not get pregnant received Mercy, the one that did received Grace to go through the pregnacy."

And your point is?

God did not cause their sin. How can you try and make it as though He did?

It's the example you provided that makes it seem as though He had a hand in their sin.

Grace was given to us by the cross of Jesus and the heavy price He paid for our salvation.

Mercy was the great declaration of God's love for us when he didn't leave us in our sins. It was His mercy that gave us what He wanted for us and not what we deserved.

And after you suffer for a short time, God, who gives all grace, will make everything right. He will make you strong and support you and keep you from falling. He called you to share in his glory in Christ, a glory that will continue forever. 1 Peter 5:10
