Sister Alvear posted on Sherri's FB page last week that she was having a difficult time. I am not sure if she was able to be there for the service...

From what I understand, this was a shock to everyone. Sherri was found unresponsive in her kitchen. She was in ICU for several days, and last Tuesday morning passed.
You know, Elder, this forum life is a strange one... We don't know most here on a personal/face to face basis, and yet years of interaction and social media 'conversation' somehow give us a connection that is difficult to explain. I was very sad when I read Sherri passed away...
I'm sure the family appreciates any and all prayers for the days ahead.

Truly sad to hear of this.

Re: Prayer for Sherri Cupples
My whole family is still in shock...Sherri was a friend for many years...more like family...due to my kidney problems I could not make the trip but my heart sure was there...Many people could not understand how Sherri and I could be so different yet close friends...We loved each other so much and could talk to each other any hour...day or night...Our pastor went to represent us and Brazil missions...we watched the service online...

Re: Prayer for Sherri Cupples
I have known Sherri and Eddie for over 45 years. This was such a shock and tragedy. Sherri had been with a mutual friend a few weeks before she died and told them that she was for sure going to the next JCM reunion because we never know who is going to go next. As it turns out it was her. Sherri was one of those people you just thought would live to be 90 or 100. So incredibly active. She lead missions groups from her church to Africa and the Phillipnes and other places several times a year. Her and Eddie's church have church plants and schools all over those countries. She also had a tremendous burden for Brazil and was a great friend and supporter of the Alverars who are missionaries there.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
