Election 2016: The Powerful vs. The People
This election is simply about those who are in control in politics, media, and popular culture versus the people. Bernie Sanders was wildly popular because he was a breath fresh air; original, organic, not intertwined within the establishment. Trump emerged victorious in the GOP primaries largely because he wasn't a career politician and was willing to take on the powers that be that turned the GOP into nothing more than "Democrat-lite".
The Dems rigged their primaries against Bernie to promote HRC to the top of the ticket. The GOP reluctantly passed the baton to Trump. So now we have it laid before us: Hillary who represents career politicians, the status quo in Washington, Wall Street, the New York media, and Hollywood versus Trump who represents the people who want to take their government back.
The establishment is pulling out the stops.
Yesterday Trump summarized what this election is about with this paragraph from his speech:
Quote:
“Anyone who challenges their control is deemed a sexist, a racist, a xenophobe and morally deformed. They will attack you, they will slander you, they will seek to destroy your career and your family, they will seek to destroy everything about you, including your reputation. They will lie, lie, lie, and then again they will do worse than that, they will do whatever is necessary. The Clintons are criminals, remember that. They’re criminals.”
|
The people will probably lose once again. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and now Clinton---32-36 years of monochrome leadership in the White House keeping all of the power brokers and the corrupt machine that is the federal government pretty much well fed and happy.
It's happening before our very eyes and too many of us are blind to see it.

Re: Election 2016: The Powerful vs. The People
I heard that clip and thought it really ironic that he would make that claim when he does the exact thing himself. Only, instead of calling people racist, etc he calls them nasty, attacks their families, threatens to reveal alleged secrets, tells the public to check out a sex tape. Trump does the same thing against anyone who dares oppose him. Whatever is necessary to win. He'll lie and claim opponents are pedophiles, lie and claim they've cheated on their wife, make up wild accusations to try and completely destroy not just the candidate, but the person.
Also, for decades Trump gave money to both the Clinton's political campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation. His family and the Clintons were bffs. Yet only now that she's standing in his way of winning the Presidency is he so concerned about who and what they are.
He calls Hillary an enabler. For decades, Trump was an enabler and supporter of the same people he now calls criminals.

Like you said, Deacon...too many are too blind to see it.
This generation of puritan fanatics would rather have lost WW2 than have foul-mouthed Patton in charge.

Oh good grief. The blind are the Trump supporters who have no answer to the fact the Trump enabled and supported the criminal Clintons for decades.

I believe he was an equal opportunity supporter. I believe he gave to a lot of politicians on both sides of the aisle. Non sequitur.

Nice try. He was a Democrat. His kids were and may still be registered Democrats.
He supported the criminals, even saying Hillary did a great job as Secy of State.

They are buds, and the "election" has already been decided, the same way the DNC was a foregone conclusion, because theft. From you.

I'm glad I was wrong about Trump losing, but I nailed what this election was about.

Hey, Deacon. Don't think it hasn't passed observation that you didn't have any skin in the game until you saw which way the wind was blowing. I put my name down for Ted Cruz before he announced, so stop embarrassing yourself.
