He's going to frame the narrative that these racist, homophobic, sexists somehow got control of Congress and he has to save the country from them.

But these racists somehow got Tim Scott and Mia Love elected.

Really? Black pastors around Illinois cast their votes for the GOP. Black people in Georgia didn't turn out to vote, making the conscious decision to stay home, and those that did vote ignored their pastors and the NAACP?

A good sign of being against the Democrats and Obama is when black Democratic Georgia voters say - Get your hands off my children's education!

They dumped the Democrats in favor of a party that will give them their charter schools - school choice. That is huge! It means someone is awake! Perhaps they learned from Louisiana when this Administration tried to sue Gov. Jindal's school choice. Go, Georgia!!!!!

Illinois was a great story. You had a popular black minister bucking the Democrat party and encouraging others to vote for Republicans.

I don't see where you can say that people staying home in Georgia and not voting somehow equals them approving of the Republican agenda or giving the Republicans a mandate.

Just because Latino's mostly stayed home and didn't vote this year doesn't mean they suddenly became pro-Republican. Not hardly. They did it out of spite towards obama. Same with other minority voters. Don't think for a moment that latino's and blacks are buying Republican bumper stickers and giving donations to the RNC.



I'd believe it a bit more if the actual voting data proved more minorities voted in this election and the majority of them voted Republican. But from what I've seen thus far, and honestly it's not much yet, the data doesn't back the claims.

David, Not voting doesn't mean you approve, and switching votes doesn't mean you approve. It means you disapprove of your own party. So, my point on the mandate still stands - it is for the GOP to stop this Administration. Why else would people not vote for their own party? Georgia and Illinois were prime examples.

3) I don't buy the "we have a mandate" talk, and I never have. IMO, the voters didn't give the Republicans a mandate last night. If anything, the Republicans were given some rope and a bit of slack. Voters will be watching to see if the Republicans are really willing to work with obama the next 18 months. If not, they'll slip the rope over their collective necks and hang them with it come 2016.

Sorry, but the voters did not enhance the GOP's power for any other reason than they want the Obama agenda halted in its tracks.

Interestingly, I happened to hear Rush Limbaugh when driving today. I wanted to see what he was saying about this election. He said the exact same thing - it is the only mandate given to the Republicans - stop this Administration. And for those Democrats that didn't vote, it indicates they want the other party to take over and do the same - stop O's policies that are not helping anyone.
