This clip was posted on another (business, non-Christian) forum that I am a member of. I objected to it based on the silly notion that Christians don't mock others, especially those whose backgrounds they don't know.

After some stirring debate, the author of the thread there removed it. He apologized to the group and PM'd me asking forgiveness and telling me that God had dealt with him, even though he wasn't spiritually where he used to be. He told me he prayed to God for forgiveness for mocking the sincere worship of another human being.

Another member addressed me and asked questions about my faith and convictions. He told me that it was good to see there are Christians that still believe in morals and ethics and have a genuine love for people. He wanted to know more about our doctrine.

Now I come here and find that the very "people of God" are mocking and scorning an individual that they don't even know. Those of you who are laughing, know that you don't even have a credible claim to call yourselves a Christian.

I will say that the Savior draws nearer to that man in identity that to you who are acting like fools.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people. All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him. But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts. (Psalms 22:6-9)

Don't come back on here and tell me to chill out and lighten up because I am sick of what I see in the so called Apostolic Church that doesn't have one shred of decency left in it.

Admin, just delete my account, change my password or whatever, I am embarrassed that I find this mockery here.

Sis I have sat through that and worse in my church, but sometimes winning people means more than them standing mute while we do our diatribe on Acts 2;38. sometimes it means letting them be a part and feel loved and respected, even when the song they sing is done horribly, and even, sometimes, if they are drunk or on drugs.

Hey first time I walked into an Apostolic Church I was tripping on LSD. I don't remember a word the preacher preached. The love anbd acceptance I felt is why I am still here 20 years later.

Wow!

I never would have thought of that in a million years.

I might would have just given him a bible lesson instead of trying to make him feel like one of the gang.

Kinda makes having platform standards look a little ridiculous now.

We are a basement storefront, since we don't have a platform, not a lot of sense in having standards for it....

God really has to have a sense of humor with some of our stuffy rules.

I know people with similar testimonies... getting the Holy Ghost at the altar after coming in stoned AND drunk out of their minds... and walking away from the altar in their right mind... one guy went home to his live in girlfriend at the time and told her they had to get married... and that he was a changed man.

She asked him what drug he was on this week... "Jesus" was the reply, from a very coherant and different individual than who she saw walk out the door earlier that morning.

Oh, and yes, concerning standards, I am rather conservative. I don't wear rings, watches, short pants, I don't watch TV, and blah blah blah.

But I don't try and project all that on the drunk that comes in off the street not knowin what he is looking to find either.

Bro Condrey's old church right thre in Austin, I may have rode in on the rainbow, but I left with both feet on the ground and full of the Holy Ghost.
