His credentials are with IPUM, not UPCI of North America. However, his appointment is with UPCI North America and they can drop him.

Not to be uncharitable, but why would anybody have much angst over how the Canadians react to this issue?

I believe that there are Canadian representatives on the Mission's Board; if the vote was unanimous, the Canadians voted to remove Bro. Drost's missionary appointment, just like the Americans.
