Re: Libyan Leader Gadhafi Killed
I am glad he's dead.
If hell is real, he is there. That fact kind of makes me sad-- I don't want to see anyone suffer for an eternity.

Re: Libyan Leader Gadhafi Killed
Let me bring it to a local level: how will this reflect on the American political scene with Obama and the upcoming election? Gadhafi is now the second major power with direct ties to terrorism, behind bin Laden, who's been captured and killed under Obama...
I wonder if/how some will view this as all the more reason to re-elect Obama...

Re: Libyan Leader Gadhafi Killed
Obama claiming to have anything to do with Gadhafi's death would be like Gore claiming to have invented the internet.

Why would he? The US had nothing to do with this. It was a NATO mission, led primarily by the UK. Remember, BHO kept saying over and over that the US was not involved with the actual combat.
I got sick of seeing the bloody pictures of him on the news. I don't care what he did, I was disgusted seeing it played over and over on the news.
Of course, if you want to compare W and Obama - at least W had Hussein captured alive and put on trial by his country, unlike the assasinations carried out by Obama against bin Ladin and the american taliban.
BHO went to the Rose Garden talking about democracy for a group of Libyan "liberators" who captured, then executed their former leader without a trial. They don't want democracy.
I guarantee you BHO would've criticized W if W would've supported the murder of a former dictator without trial, or the killing of bin Ladin and assasination of the american taliban.

wweeeeelllllllll, he may have criticized the murder of Gadhafi. but I doubt he would have lost any sleep over the killing of bin laden or the american taliban, or any other taliban for that matter

Obama did continue the pursuit of bin Laden and gave the authorization for ST6 to take him out, however Obama himself kept saying the admin was not involved in combat in Libya. He said this was a NATO mission, primarily led by the UK. Obama will try to take credit for Libya, but his own words prevent him from doing so.
As far as helping BHO's re-election. He received an 11pt bounce in the polls after bin Laden - the most hated man in America - was killed. 11 points! ( Source ) And the bounce only lasted a couple weeks. I doubt this will have much of an impact here.
People are far more concerned with the US economy and jobs than they are Obama's foreign policy and assasinations.

Didn't mean to characterize the death of bin Laden as assasination, but I do believe the american taliban was.

This approach to terrorism is US policy, Obama has just allowed that policy to continue, the benefit to American and the world remains to be seen. What fills all these power vacs, will be the test of progress or no. BO has little to do with this, the US policy is bigger than him.
