I was offended by the statement because I know what was implied and what reprobate means.

It seems this week there has been a turn on this board that doesn't feel as safe or a tolerant community as it use to be.

We are diverse here and so far, the core group here get along just fine with those diversities. We have learned to respect each other, but when a word like reprobate gets thrown around......just not feeling good about that.

BTW, there are those on this board who readily admit their backslidden state. Wouldn't it be great to be able to bring them back with love?

True, but that doesn't mean they have been turned over to a reprobate mind.

I will state again I don't see us as declared as reprobates. Pastor Poster did a great job of defining the word.

When the participle is left hanging, it is easy to become confused as to the subject of the main clause of the sentence. I see a lot of this is some of our posts. Not to say that I do not violate some of the most cherished rules of sentence diagraming. However, a little more thought to sentence construction can remove a great deal of confusion sometimes.

This is my heartbeat.

What if we encouraged just one person that had slipped away to get back where they need to be?

Instead we are sealing their fate by giving them more reasons to mistrust. It just makes me sad.

You, who are spiritually strong, restore such a one. Taking heed, lest you fall.

(Boomm paraphrase....)

Some have prophesied over themselves ....

Elder, I find this has little to do with misuse of the King's English.
