Well... IMO... Obama is operating at a magnitude of social engineering and great society operations Johnson wouldn't have had the guts to dream of.
Johnson paved the way... But Obama is clearing both sides of the road for a 12 lane superhighway...each direction.

I can't totally disagree. I think obama is selling us out globally while Johnson was only doing it nationally. Both are socialists, with Johnson's socialism being only a means to power, but obama's socialism is much more sinister in my opinion.
Working from my basic theory that one cannot properly judge a man’s place in history until he has been out of the office for at least 10 years, I would say it is far too early to assess Bammers place in history. But I will say he is working hard to earn a position on the “worst Presidents list”
Herbert Hoover is almost unanimously seen as the worst president in the last 100 years.
Jimmy Carter however, was the least effective.
Lyndon Johnson certainly deserves to be mentioned.
However, none did as much damage to the Constitution as FDR. Conventional wisdom puts him at the forefront of “Greatest Presidents” and he is top 5 or 6 all time on most lists. But he did many things that if done today, might lead to an actual violent attack on Washington. FDR passed laws that froze prices and people were actually arrested for setting their price below what he demanded. He was Americas only real authoritarian president. Not to mention his absolute bungling of Social Security. After first getting it passed, he worked it so that the funds coming into SS program went directly to the general revenue coffers and not into the SS system. We are now paying the price for that ineptness.
All 4 of these guys deserve to be listed on any “worst presidents “ list.

President Carter is spoken of as being the worst President in our life time and now some people are saying that BHO is matching him or surpassing him for that position.
FDR, hands down. He left a horrible legacy of failure and waste. His people successfully used WW2 as a means to propagate his failed policies and to cover up the fact that the Great Depression had never lifted.
FDR was such a failure that BOTH parties overwhelmingly supported the ratification of the 22 Amendment limiting the number of terms a President may serve in a direct response to FDR's various power grabs.

Do you seriously attribute President Kennedy's assassination to LBJ?
I'm not about to defend the guy on those other points - though there are some elements of exaggeration there as well; but this one is a bit much, don't you think?
