Re: Genealogy Research?

Way to much to tell. Just some cool highlights on my mother's side of the family. We came to America via the Canary Islands. We used to be the proud owners of Man-O-War (the greatest thoroughbred racehorse), we worked and supported the underground railroad, and operated the first Post Office in San Antonio, Texas.

Re: Genealogy Research?

I am stuck on my husbands father side. We have a name that is identical to two with the same name and we don't know which one is ours.

Also, on my fathers maternal side we come from England and Ireland. On my fathers paternal side, my uncle told me we were related to the man that settled what is now knows as Dallas and Bryan, Texas. He sold his trading post in Dallas and left and came to Bryan, Texas and opened a trading post there.

Also, have been told that we are related to William Jennings Bryan. I haven't found that connection yet, but I think his line is hard to access as well. Or at least it was years ago when I tried researching.

On my Mom's paternal side they owned a plantation. But if they were rich back then they spent it all. lol

Yes, it is an integral part of Spain. I am not Spanish. I believe that my mother's family came from Germany to the Canary Islands and my mother is partly Jewish. You can see that in my mother and two of my sisters. They have the darker coloring and, of course, the nose. LOL! This is my youngest sister. She has had a nose job. LOL!

Yes, and I bought the movie because Samuel Riddle is in the Special Features.
I think it has some language, which I don't like, but I bought it anyway. Just couldn't help it. LOL!

It is based on a true story as I understand. My husband bought it also. Haven't seen it in years, but don't remember much being in it.

Yes, mostly true. Being a movie, there are some additions. But Sea Biscuit did race against War Admiral, which Samuel Riddle also owned. I guess the movie makes you think badly of Samuel, but upon his death, he did give his estate to the community of Medina, Pennsylvania so they could use if for a hospital. He was a good man.

If my sister, which I posted, has Jewish roots she sure doesn't show it. She spends money like water and has never been married. She loves very expensive things! LOL!

Re: Genealogy Research?

I did this a couple of years ago- I was able to trace my mother's family back to the
1600's to France. Her family was easier to trace because they were Catholic and they kept great records. I was able to trace them from France to Acadia, Canada to Louisiana. I have not been able to trace my Dad's family, but I have not had time to devote to it. My husbands family I have traced it to a Scottsman who came over as an indentured servant to John Hancock's brother. He was on the wrong side of a rebellion. One of his relatives was a partner with Daniel Boone. We have found letters from his great great grandparents on line. I used the above stated resouces. The LDS church is another good resource. We have a public library here in BR that has some great resources.

Perhaps you are the product of one of those alien hybrid things that the Greys were doing prior to WW2? It's a strange thing for human beings to "suddenly appear" like that.

Dimensional shifting?
