Some more observations from the land of the leprechauns...
The morning news shows start their day out showing the front pages of the major newspapers. They read the headlines that are dominating the news.
They have Kellogg's Cocoa Puffs here, except they are called Cocoa Pops.
They pronounce vitamins with a soft i at the beginning.
Their fruit juices don't focus on Vitamin C...they focus on Omega-3.
We went to dinner with a group from HP last night. Some were Irish and some were part of the team from America. We had a great time. The food was excellent! I had roast chicken with 'truffle mash' (mashed potatoes) and green beans. Spiced apple strudel for dessert.
I was able to ask a lot of questions about their culture. They have a lot of schools that are segregated between the boys and girls, and they wear uniforms. They learn English as their first language and Irish for their second language. I kept calling it gaelic, and they kept saying it's just Irish. lol!
They said there are still a few Irish-speaking only communities left in Ireland, they are mostly just very small villages in the North, but that most everybody speaks English. I LOVE the beauty of their accents. It's very musical to me, with a 'lift' at the end.
I still can't get my sleep cycle regulated...I slept for 2 hours last night, and got woken up at 1am...couldn't get back to sleep till after 8am this morning. Then slept till 2pm.
On top of that, I developed a head cold! Argh!!!
I've been sick most of this week! gggrrrrrr
We are heading out right now to go to dinner and do some shopping...cya all after a bit I'm sure...seeing as how I won't be sleeping tonight.
