Johanns is my former city mayor and state governor. He's a good guy. I also like the Democrat from NE also, Ben Nelson. He hasn't been too bad ... for a Democrat.

House Votes to End Federal Funding for ACORN

The House today passed a bill by a 345-75 vote to stop all federal funding to ACORN. Every House Republican who attended the vote backed the measure, as well as 172 Democrats, while only 75 Democrats opposed it.

The Senate, which earlier this week passed a bill by a 83 to 7 margin to bar ACORN from receiving federal housing grants from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, is considering a complete ban similar to that passed by the House. Senate Republicans have said the group has received more than $50 million from the federal government since 1994.
