“It’s no problem because it’s already a disaster,” he said."

Incidently, the Dallas Newspaper also reported incidently that home prices have fallen by 4% perhaps signalling tough times ahead for Texas (which makes funds tighter as more families invariably fall into the system).

Do those that were in favor of removing all these children have any kind of idea what lies ahead for these kids? Or the kind of abused kids they may end up with?

Was the risk of harm with their parents truly greater than the risk of harm in a system compared to the Katrina Storm by one of the judges?

Newman,
He is right it is a disaster. They are still violating the law of Texas regardless of their religious affiliation. Do we allow that because children are involved?

Children should not be hostages in the state's war on polygamists.

Information about Flora Jessop have probably been discussed. I haven't checked, but this article about the FLDS was written in 2004.

Pressing On...you need to look objectively at the big picture before you cheer the government in taking away children based on the beliefs of their parents.

Newman,
We have polygamists - we have children. How do we handle one without involving the other? When you bust a crackhouse, everyone living there is involved.

I just thought the information was interesting.

I am looking at it objectively. They are breaking the law and the moral law against the Word of God and we don't want them here. That's it, Newman.

It is unfortunate that children are involved. Do we do nothing because children are involved?

And this, I highly, have issue with:
Quote:
The buildings are being constructed in a rural area which is roped off to onlookers. Eldorado residents say they have no idea what is going on inside the compound.
An attorney for the FLDS told the Deseret News in Salt Lake City that the compound is going to be used as a ‘corporate hunting retreat.’ He said it was ‘unlikely’ that the FLDS planned to move to Texas. Jessop says it has long been known that Jessop was eyeing property in Mexico for a new settlement.

Children shouldn't be coerced into underage marriages by deluded men threatening them from birth with eternal damnation if they disobey them.

YFZ Ranch girl gives birth in San Marcos hospital

By Jayna Boyle (Contact)
Wednesday, April 30, 2008

The criminal side of the investigation is stalled while a court-appointed special master sorts items that were seized in the raid on the YFZ Ranch to determine whether they can be entered into evidence, said Tela Mange, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Early on, attorneys for the parents said some items should not have been seized because they are religious items, Mange said......

.......At the San Marcos hospital, two armed state troopers and at least one person wearing the shirt of a Department of Family and Protective Services worker stood outside the maternity ward. A woman wearing the FLDS' characteristic pastel prairie dress and upswept, braided hair sat calmly in the nearby waiting room.......

I wonder what the items were that were seized as part of evidence?
