Re: More for Our Barak Oscama Backers

Jekyll,

Obviously you are just prejudice!

How dare you point out that Obama is one of the most liberal members of the Senate.

Obviously you are just a "hater" in addition to being prejudice.

That's ok though because Chris Hall will set you straight and explain how it is Christian to vote for someone committed to gay rights, abortion rights, etc.

Re: More for Our Barak Oscama Backers

This guy (Obama) is a total phony! He is not only liberal to the extreme, but is a totally corrupt Chicago machine politician. He has never had an original idea and only got into office because he is a Democrat in a state where the Republicans are weak and disorganized. Self serving, racist, lying constantly, corrupt, pro every wacko extremist homo abortionist cause--are these such such great and admirable qualities?

Can anyone mention even ONE thing he has done that can be admired or ONE reason to support or vote for him? Change??? Oh please , don't tell me you are that stupid and are still breathing without a respirator.

Well, that is your constitutional right. If he is elected, enjoy your rights for the little time that you will have left to enjoy them.
He is going to enjoy taking them away. He is already pushing for things that would undermine our religious freedoms. This will escalate should he take office.
Can you provide more information on the specific things he's planning to do to eviscerate my religious liberties?

CC1,

I don't believe Republicans plan on addressing gay rights or abortion rights either. Those are all issues each party uses to manipulate voters and scare us into voting for them. The Democrats claim Republican want to persecute gay people and force women into back alley abortions. The Republicans claim that Democrats want to make everyone gay and force women to have abortions.

Truth be told...these are just issues used as scare tactics.

Newsflash...no court in the land is going to rule against the private association of two American citizens based on gender. Like it or not...that's the painful truth of life in Post-Modern America. Also, no court is going to "ban abortion" or "overturn Roe".

When it comes to politics I say this prayer...

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

If we want to address gay marriage we have to minister to the gay community.

If we want to prevent abortion we have to minister to the needs and issues women face when they have a crisis pregnancy.

When I counseled a woman who had an abortion, with tears streaming down her face, she said, "Chris, when I was a little girl I never said, 'Mommy, I wanna have an abortion when I grow up.'" I prayed with her and did my best to comfort her, horrified at what she had done and had gone through. But her sobbing words still echo in my mind. She was not raised in church and she was with a young man who promised that he loved her. Well, he began drinking and got abusive but she stayed with him believing that he would change. She became pregnant and he thew her out on the street. She didn't have health insurance. Her father, a Baptist preacher had thrown her out by her hair the last time she was home and she had no where and one to turn to. She was denied assistance because she was working and earning too much to qualify. She felt hopeless and that's when Satan moved in on her and tempted her to commit the unmentionable.

Instead of condemning some candidate over abortion policy or condemning women who are obviously going through a very difficult crisis...I ask...where was I? Where were we?

We need to do more than ramp up rhetoric about abortion. We need to minister to women and address the issues they face.

Doesn't address how a Christian is supposed to sidestep facts and vote for Oscama. You should be a politician.

Since neither party will really address the social issues we talk so much about, it becomes evident that one should vote for which ever candidate they feel will address the issue their family is currently facing. If it is lack of employment, they should vote for the who has a plan to get more jobs going in this country. If it's health coverage it should be which ever candidate appears to have a plan that best covers one's family. Bread and butter issues. If it's war, which ever candidate plans on addressing the war as you feel would be best.

Of course he can't ... maybe his conspiracy is based on the candidate's birth name .... maybe it's not WASPish enough, perhaps.
