We all lost when your Father left us but Heaven gained a tremendous gift. In the early 1960's your Dad taught two teenaged "wannabe preachers" from the back seat of my car as I drove him to pick up some luggage at the train station. It was a lesson that was so different and unique that it ignited something in us that we never quite got over. The other passenger with me is now a great teacher and has already been named once tonight in this thread. You certainly can be proud of your heritage.

teaching in all it's tenses in the NT is found 283 times.

Teaching must be important. A Bishop must be "apt to teach."

There are plenty of GOOD preachers, and there are plenty of ignorant teachers.

A teacher will teach you something a preacher will tell you something.

A teacher will cause you to think a preacher will cause you to act.

The thinking part helps you after conversion and helps you understand why you need to continue to change.

Assuming you're right...which is more important? The conversion or the road? Can you have one without the other?

Many folks have been there for the conversion. Not many continue on the road.


That is why many times a large church has a great teacher behind the founding walls.

They tend to keep a larger percentage of the folks who get converted.
