I tremendously enjoyed AM last night and DB today. Planning on a late dinner with a revered AFF member later tonight.

Eureka,
Keep the reports coming! How about a little more comprehensive one than "I enjoyed ____".
What did AM preach about?
What about DB?

Eureka? LOL! The one thing that may be worse than being named after a vacuum is living in one.
DB taught on constructive communication to be applied to spouse or other applications.
Very good stuff. Most of it applies very well to how we treat non-Oneness Pentecostal Christians.... you know like avoiding humiliation and speaking only fact - not from suspisions or jealousy... .
Tonight, AM preached on pulling down strongholds and being proactive with the gospel - not content with simply being saved but to be offensive with our spiritual warfare.

My favorite message was the last one - preached by our district super Bro Gleason.
The ministry of Stephen - a saint, not a preacher or Apostle.
The "historic" and "orthodox" chuch gave us mourners benches.
They gave long narrow churches with a special high place for a minister to disseminate the words from the creeds and scripture.
They gave us Laity/Clergy distinction. The "Holy" and the common unholy ones. The Clergy are given the robes and special reverence while laity were often kept in ignorance with an emphisis on simple obedience....
Bro Gleason declared his distain for pastors who use positions to instill fear in "laity" while demanding reverence for themselves. Preachers should not focus on "control" but rather focus on equipping and releasing.
He said his greatest fear, when a "Stephen" rises to fulfil his calling, is that he will be stoned by the religious among us!
I enjoyed the last few days and was very blessed to be in attendance. For those who were in attendence, there was a couple incidences at this conference that gave me cause for concern... but I won't speak of them and my concerns just yet.

Come on! Don't keep us waiting.
I'm very interested in your concerns.

Sounds like a good sermon premise. Is this sermon online anywhere to watch or listen to?

I don't think so - I wish they were.

There is no real need to try to connect any names with my concerns - we had multiple speakers address the crowd...
Just a couple trends that are developing that causes me concern - I am sure some others will disagree.... Things I would very much expect at a Hinn meeting or other charismatic gatherings...
I am all for some change in the UPC... we need to be more relevant and rethink some other things, but this is a change in the wrong direction IMHO.
Maybe more later, or in another thread.

I wasn't interested in names at all. That never even entered my mind. Totally irrelevant.
Just interested in what was creating the concern - that's all. Change in the wrong direction how?
I'm curious is all.
