Right, see I did not ask you guys where do you think someone else should draw the line. I asked where do YOU draw the line.
I thought it was a trick question......LOL!
I dress modestly. I don't show body parts that aren't meant for public view, nor do my children. I also dress accordingly, meaning that my attire for work is different than my attire for church, but the modesty issue remains the same.

And still, neither liberals nor conservatives can answer the question. They'd rather just take to extremes of each side and shoot each other.
I didn't take any side Prax, I simply gave a paraphrase of what you posted. You're the one going to extremes with the speedos and nudist colonies.

I find it ironic to hear the liberals go on and on about the conservatives when the liberals are just as mean spirited and angry and judgemental as the cons.
Let's break this down . . .

You're right, you didn't actually say that. But you did go from low necklines to using an extreme that I imagine everyone would support you on: the nudist colonies. I'm sure everyone here would agree that joining a nudist colony is going waaaaayyy too far. Definitely the line should be drawn several miles before that. *grin*

I didn't avoid any question and I didn't mean to make anything personal. I just thought the examples given were a little extreme and it hit me as amusing, that's all. I apologize if you felt it was personal and I was giving false accusations. That wasn't my intention.

Again, I apologize if you took my post in any of these ways. I definitely wasn't angry and I don't think I was being mean-spirited or judgemental. Sorry if you took the post that way.
In a thread where a picture of a young lady was posted with a low nickline, revealing more cleavage than I think a Pentecostal lady should, it was basically argued that this was just fine.
My question to you is where do you draw the line? We have had one Pastor here, who shall be nickless, talk about running around in public in speedos. Is there a limit? Do you draw the line anywhere? Would you approve of Christians who go to nudest colonies? Is anything ok?
If you have a relationship with Jesus Christ , he will direct you. I don't need a pastor to tell me how to dress.
Many Pastors preach against things that are only their personal views.
Some don't want women in Pants because they want to see those LEGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGASS!! lol
Right, see I did not ask you guys where do you think someone else should draw the line. I asked where do YOU draw the line.
Ok, you want to know where I draw the line - me, the former dress-by-the-books-Apostolic-holiness person?
I do not wear mini skirts. PLEASE!! I am way to heavy for that!! My skirts are all well below my knees - almost to my ankles, in fact.
I do not have a problem wearing slacks. I honestly feel that they are more modest than alot of the skirts I see others (including others who are 'in church') wearing. I do not wear shorts. Again, my body build is not made for those. Plus I'm just way too old. OLD legs do not look good in shorts. Let's be honest!
I am very careful about what I wear on the top. NO cleavage ever. There are certain things that are meant for my husband's eyes only. Those things are much to sacred to me for me to go around flaunting them to every Tom, Dick and Harry who has no business lookin!
So what else do you want to know? Sleeves? Again, I'm not really built to look good in sleeveless things, so I always have sleeves. In the winter those sleeves will be at my wrists for warmth. In the summer, they will be just above my elbows in a small effort to keep cool.
So there you go.

Since I don't do either, I am not going to extremes. I am simply asking a question where the people on this board stand

Until yesterday I was sure we'd all agree a low cut dress showing cleavage was going waaaaaaay to far. So I don't assume anything. In fact I should take that back...until I heard about a pastor wearing speedos out in public I never thought any of us would go that far. So I can only ask and you guys give answers

Thanks. Would you consider yourself a liberal, moderate or conservative?
I know some liberals on this board that have not spoken up but would agree with me about the neckline in that picture.

Yes but where do you draw the line, I did not ask about the pastor. Im asking where do YOU draw the line. I've seen the way you dress and I have never seen you wear a low neck line showing cleavage....do you draw a line with that?

My personal guidelines or what I feel is modest is good for male and female…. based on my interpretation of scriptures… I refuse to add to the Word of God..and feel the convictions need to come from the Holy Ghost.
I dress more conservative than this…mainly my weight and way I was raised has an impact on that...but these are the guidelines I give my girls until what time they are responsible for their own care. Basically shoulders to knees… such as this dress.
Since it was the dresses on the other thread that prompted this thread… here is a more modest dress…imo of course not as dressy either, but would be more appropriate.
I don’t feel clothing should be tight and revealing on either sex. Necklines should be modest but I am not a stickler on sleeves. I don’t care if knees show but skirt/shorts need to be long enough that thighs or anything else isn’t revealed when sitting.
I think all adornment… whether it be hair styles, accessories, jewelry should be done in moderation… and I personally think most upc hairstyles and accessories are over the top.
I feel women’s hair should be lengthy and feminine, but not required to be uncut… men’s hair should be short. I think we should give every effort to look like a woman/man… and not emulate the opposite sex.
I think we spend far too much time obsessing over the outward and should be spending a great deal on inner holiness which will always work from the inside out…. When that happens we will find the outside will just automatically reflect Christ… through more than apparel, but deeds and actions.
