If I remember correctly, people was calling for 1st degree murder, but that would take a grand jury to indict in Florida. And I am speculating here, but I think the prosecution knew that the evidence they had would not convince a grand jury to charge anything so they charged the highest thing they could without using the grand jury just to appease the people and/or to scare GZ into pleading to a lesser charge to quickly dispel media pressures. It was scheduled to go to a grand jury but they charged before it did, I'm thinking to avoid such a scenario as the grand jury not giving an indictment.

The GZ trial is all I am watching even on Fox at this time.

I keep seeing little blurbs about this trial and hearing that the prosecution is doing poorly. From the star witness "Precious" seemingly being dumber than a bag of hammers to witnesses for the pros actually saying things that support the defense. Yet in my gut I still fear GZ will be found guilty.

There are just too many people in this country that want GZ to pay for martin's death despite it being Martin's fault he is dead.

Pros has a motion requesting the Judge limit the Def questioning of Det Serino. Pros unhappy that Judge allowed Def to ask questions of the Det in which the Det stated he believe GZ was telling the truth.

There's a problem with the state's case when they file a motion to limit the Def from asking the lead Det if the suspect (GZ) was truthful or not.

Reading some articles online, I came across this gem from HLN:

[Judge] has ruled in favor of the defense with a most crucial ruling granting the defense's motion to keep out the state's audio expert who would have testified that it was Trayvon Martin screaming for help on the 911 tape before he was killed. That expert testimony was expected to be a cornerstone of the State's case.

Wow. What a train wreck. Now it all makes sense. The reason the Pros case has been so weak is because they put all their money on the hopes that a 2-second audio clip could be deciphered as being TM screaming for help.

Remember, the so-called "expert" the Pros used was some dude in his home office, partly using his own program he makes money selling and partly using Sony Sound Forge, which can be bought at your local Best Buy.

The "scientific" process he used was listening to the audio, cleaning it up with one of the programs, then he would type in what he thought he heard into the Sound Forge program and see if the program confirmed if that's what it thinks was said or not.

The Judge rightly denied his testimony because it was no better than some tween sitting in his bedroom with Apple's GarageBand, listening to distorted audio that not even the FBI could decipher, and claiming to know what was said.

This judge is so Pro Procescution it's not even funny. It's almost like the Judge no matter what the Defense says George is guilty..

So the Judge is having the court reporter read back the question

"So if we were to take pathological liar off the table as a possibility, would you believe the defendant was telling the truth?"

"Yes"

(typing as fast as possible...the last part - "would you believe" - I believe is correct, may be slightly different.)

Judge instructed the Jury to strike it from their notes and from the record; they are not to use it in their deliberations.

That's a huge win for the Pros. Think about it, the Lead Police Investigator said he believes GZ was telling the truth. That was a blow to the Pros.
