Citrus juices like pineapple and orange juice are great tenerizers as you said. Funny true story. Years ago when I first heard that I made up a marinade that featured orange juice heavily.

I made the mistake of letting it marinade overnight which was way too long for the amount of orange juice I had. The steaks ending up tasting like orange juice! Arghhh. Luckily they were an inexpensive cut of meat I was trying to figure out how to really tenderize so no great loss.

Your soy sauce and pineapple juice might be a good one for tenderizing less expensive cuts of meat like top sirloin.

Orange juice flavored steaks - yum.......NOT.
I do use pineapple juice often to tenderize. I'll have to try the soy recipe.

I enjoy grilling myself. We do it at least a couple of times a week.

We probably need to get together, because I like to eat.

Wow! A woman after my own heart.

Unless you're going to eat all kosher meats, you've missed the point with the "don't eat blood" commandments.

I'm a Gentile. I bless the meat and then I eat it...RARE (or medium rare when my husband is present--just so he doesn't gag).

That was then. This is now. We don't have to eat like Cavemen.
