Re: Fires In East Texas

New fire started today in East Texas, by a buzzard. I kid you not, it was on a power line and a spark caught it on fire. It fell to the ground and started the fire. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.

Sounds like a Bugs Bunny cartoon. LOL! I told my husband about your post. We finally hauled the rest of our fallen tree to the brush pile, which is getting rather larger (8 feet tall) since we've been under a burn ban for almost a year. I said, "So, aside from lightening or an intentional lighting, this won't catch on fire?" He said, "Well, it could if a buzzard lands on it."

UPDATE: Bastrop Complex Fire 50% contained.

It is seriously scary. At least 12 of them are suspected arson.

Yea, that we are in a drought.

Everything is so dry, it looks like things could ignite on their own!

UPDATE: Bastrop Fire Complex is 60% contained.

Flew in to Austin Bergstrom, Saturday night. Couldn't see the fire, but I don't know if they weren't visible from there at that time, or if the plane was at the wrong angle.
