Rules
Someone was talking to me and asked what were some of the rules of different churches I have visited over the years....so I thought I would ask you all to share some of the rules...
Some I might share for ladies...some want hair up...others want hair down...
Some frown on the color red....
Some wear sleeves to the wrist...
and on and on....
Anyone want to share RULES....

Re: Rules
Our Pastor teaches scriptures related to salvation, Christian lifestyle and modesty.
It is up to you whether you follow the teaching or not.
(there are no mandated rules that I know of)
He will tell you straight up what it takes to make it to heaven.
He does not insist that you agree with him, but does insist that you do not teach contradictory to what he teaches.

Re: Rules
Having been around some of the most conservative churches in Pentecost, I have never known of a church to have rules or requirements for attendance. As Sis. Amanah said of her pastor, I believe most holiness men preach the scriptures and preach their convictions. No man can make someone do something they don't want to do. Holiness churches do have platform and leadership requirements. I would think this would be very different than "rules".

Re: Rules
I remember when I was a young girl (many years ago) a church in Arkansas that had a list of rules on the wall as you walked in...
Interesting how we all differ... I remember once someone asked me what my standard was ...I think they said 9 or 11 but may be off on the numbers...anyway I said, I don't know what you mean....then they told me how many inches from the floor was my dress...lol...I still remember my answer...Well, I have never measured but my pastor always taught to have our knees well covered standing and sitting... Finally the person let me know how much better their stand was that the church across town...the inches from the floor REALLY told who was closer to God....

Re: Rules
My first pastor taught that a skirt to the ankles couldn’t have a slit higher than 6 inches. It, along with many other things, was enforced.

Re: Rules
A woman told the story of a pastor who didn’t allow women to tweeze their eyebrows. It was said that when his daughters became teens God dealt with him to allow it.
I thought to myself, his daughters dealt with him.

Re: Rules
A pastor (none of mine) wouldn’t allow people to marry in the sanctuary if they had previously committed fornication.

Re: Rules
Back in the 90s, Richard Gazowsky was said to have a supply of wrap around skirts for female visitors who weren't dressed appropriately.

Re: Rules
My mom and dad, when first married, decided to visit a church. They were told they couldnt come in because they were wearing t shirts and jean shorts and sandals. Which was literally about all they had being poor. My dad NEVER visited a church again and died a zen Buddhist.
