Do we have to pay tithes?
I was listening to this, it's good. Just had a conversation with some individuals yesterday. He explains more than just about tithes, but this was a good message! I encourage you to listen to it.

One Evangelist I heard said if you miss ONE PENNY of your tithes you will not enter Heaven.

Former pastor said that if he forgives you- you don’t have to catch up in payment. He also said that if he wanted to spend it all on bubble gum, he could.

I have never heard a pastor or visiting minister say anything like that. I'm not saying you all aren't telling a truth, but it does sound like the beard sin issue thing again.
Who wants to spend money on ice cream and bubble gum? God or the preacher?

I'm not advocating the way he (the preacher in question) went about making that statement. But what did he do for a living?

EB, you have said several times on these tithe threads, that you have never heard of a pastor or a visiting minister say that you will not be saved for not paying your tithe. You feel that we are surely not making it up, but you seem to have your doubts. Seeing (or in this case, hearing) is believing. If you would be so kind as to queue the audio of Brother Riggen, go to 1:21:43 and report back with what Brother Riggen is saying at this point. I'll leave it at that, and we'll wait for your report.
We will put the matter to rest concerning whether or not pastors are preaching that tithing is a salvation issue. Let us know what Brother Riggen says, and whether he whispers it or shouts it from the rooftop. Does he hint about it, or is he pretty strong. Let us know what you think.
Also check 1:22:40.
And at 1:24 he tells of his pastor that advises the ushers to watch the ones who don't put a tithing envelope in the plate, because they will steal from the plate. You just can't make this stuff up.
