The Word Does Not Keep Anyone.

By Jesus' own Words, there is more to being "kept" than through mere mental assent to a few imperatives found in Scripture. Faith is more than mental assent.

Pity so many gullible Americans are Easy Believers. Just as so many, according to Senior Members in The Forum, do not know how to read the Bible. Tsk. Read The Bible where Jesus clearly describes the works which must be done to attain Salvation. I can list them for you if you want to know what Jesus said. Otherwise, Paul will be speaking to your mind, and pushing your buttons. Through all of those Faithful Ministers in Church and in The Christian Media.

Salvation by works? Blasphemy!
I'm curious if you could explain how a woman might be saved in childbirth? I'm not impressed with the commentaries there, ty.

Upgrade your English comprehension. I just stated "The Word Does Not Keep Anyone." Short memory? There as you are operating in the Spirit? Lol.

No Scripture states anyone is "kept by the Word of God." Is this new information for you?

Psalms 119:11
Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.

Romans 10:8 ... The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

Thank you so much for bringing those two finely delivered references for us to use.

Should we note how Psalm 119:11 so clearly, as is the intent of The Lord, uses the word "might" to convey the possibility of of David not sinning? The possibility of not sinning by hiding God's Word in one's heart is far from your self generated idea of being "kept" by The Word.

As well, 119:11 does not use any such word as "kept." Remember also, Poor Old David had only the Torah for instruction to "possibly" avoid sin, and did not have the Word of Jesus or the Power of an indwelling Holy Spirit. Did you really think The Torah can "keep you from sin?" Lol.

And, Romans 10:8 is indeed comforting for those who need merely warm comfort. However, if you think Romans 10:8 is part of your faith, are you then able to remember all of God's Word as it is "in your mouth, and in your heart?" Why, in fact you cannot. You cannot even remember Jesus' Commands from His Sermon on the Mount. Therefore, Romans 10:8 has nothing to do with you personally.

And, since it says nothing about a Believer being "kept," Romans 10:8 serves nothing within this thread.

Please keep studying [read: "lightly skimming through"] God's Word. Then keep sharing your best ideas with me. It is a joy to minister to you. What denomination has trained you to your level of reading skills?

Maybe you are on track with some things JoReba, but your methods aren't getting through. I struggle comprehending your posts. All you are doing is making mild insulting remarks to people in regards to their relationship with God. This being a internet forum with usernames, we don't truly know anyone personal enough to make accurate statements about them. I hope you become convicted over the temperament that you have, or at least that it is not how you deal with people in the personal arena.

What you "hope" here is germane to nothing but to your own intuitive sentiments. Did you grasp that one ... ? Lol.

I agree you perceive all I am doing is making a few mild insults. And, that reveals your spiritual capacity.

Tell me, have you ever noticed how Jesus massively trolled and insulted people in order to get them to wake up? For instance, we can now see the true tenor of your relationship to Jesus and His Word if you review Luke 4:16-31 where Jesus so successfully trolled His own hometown fellow Jews in their Synagogue on the Sabbath that they literally tried to murder Him.

Have you ever noticed how Jesus never had a civil and respectful word for His Mother, but always corrected and rebuked her? Every time. And, He showed no kind words to the lost Phsrisees, but verbally ravaged them. As well, He called the poor Syrophoenician Greek Woman groveling for His mercy a "dog." He called Peter "Satan" for mistakenly trying to protect Him. He denied His entire family, His Mother and Brothers, when they tried to speak to Him.

He showed no respect for other peoples' property by allowing a herd of pigs to be destroyed, and by allowing a man's house roof to be destroyed. Jesus constantly criticized people within their ignorance and lack of vision. He will do the same to you, because you are no better than His contemporaries in Scripture to whom He "was sent first."

And, here you are. Making minor little complaints about how I "come across." Thanks for the size of your mind.

You just confirmed what I said about "Pentecostsls" being shallow and inept. Indeed, you are a leader in that regard. "Anointed" in all of your intuitive capacities. You watch so many Godless movies with your wife and children that you can easily use the content of them to express yourself, rather than using God's Word. That is one reason you are a phoney "Evangelist." And, you just turn on and off your "Spirit Filling," by your own admission. Lol.
