Pestilence: How close?

Throughout history, there have been plagues and pestilences. I believe there is another one coming that will be more severe than any other, because it will be clandestine.

Your thoughts?

First, I believe one must define the words "plagues and pestilences." Webster's Dictionary advises that they are actually synonymous; defining a "pestilence" as a contagious, destructively infectious and swiftly spreading disease.

When our Lord answered the apostles inquiry about the "signs" that would be indicative of His 2nd advent, He stated that some of the "signs" would be "famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places," that is, these things would NOT be confined to a particular locale or nation, but would be widespread, appearing in different nations as that appointed moment of His return drew ever closer.

Surely we are witness to all of these things presently, which should cause us to recognize the imminency of His coming, for He added, saying, "All these things are the beginning of sorrows" (see Matthew 24:7-8).

Who is the "us"? ( Remember, the Church lives in two realms: the spiritual and the natural realms.) That's why the question: who is the "us"?

Well, i would like to think that that would be the 'remnant;' however, even those in the Church will die some kind of death, yes? So, surely 'it' will, on some level, yes.

Could the "apostasy" be a symptom of spiritual pestilence?
