But, what would YOU say?
After reading responses on different threads, I have come to the conclusion, that if you could transport some AFF posters back to Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost and they were given the opportunity to answer the question directed to Peter and the rest of the apostles..."Men and brethren, what shall we do?".
They would NEVER answer what Peter answered.
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Act 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

That's true but having been on this Forum since the beginning I am encouraged about the poll results. Im shocked that of those who responded the great majority now believe baptism is part of the new birth.
I would have thought it would be the other way around. Glad to see truth making a comeback here.

Re: But, what would YOU say?
Even though there are many on here that disagree, still I believe this is a good teaching tool. This is the way, to make truth, your own.
If you just listen to someone, whether you agree or disagree and you never dig into the truth of the matter, you really haven't learned much.

Re: But, what would YOU say?
The question was asked...." Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Was Paul and Silas' subsequent answer adequate?
Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

So, tell us about the jailer's house that was saved.
Was it a single family suburban or an inter-city apartment.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

What a man believes, he speaks. One's words are the fruit of what one believes.
If two men believe the same, their words will be in agreement.
Those whose words are not in agreement with the apostles, do not believe the same as the apostles.
Thus, they have a different belief system, ie a different religion, than the apostles.
Some people's religion leads them to say 'baptism doesn't save anybody'. Peter's religion led him to say 'baptism doth also now save us'.
Some people's religion leads them to say 'baptism doesn't wash away sins'. Brother Ananias' religion led him to say 'Arise, and be baptised, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.'
Some people's religion leads them to say 'he that believes and is not baptised shall be saved', but Jesus' religion led him to say 'he that believes and is baptised shall be saved'.
Lots of different religions floating around.
Only one is True.

WHAT IS THE WORD OF THE LORD?
The same, as what Phillip preached.
Acts 8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
There was only ONE GOSPEL. Therefore they all preached the same, as we find Paul doing in Acts 19.
It is one package.
REPENT
BE BAPTIZED IN JESUS NAME
RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST----WITH THE EVIDENCE. -----
I don't believe the Apostles would have left the people dangling---without the evidence.

If we put your period...end of story...on that quote, we could start a church and call it "Haters for Jesus"
