It is good to be prepared. In fact, it is probably very VERY good. But it is also possible for someone to go too far. The first family shown in this episode reminds me of someone spending ALL their spare (and even NON-spare) cash, even forgoing ALL vacations and luxuries, in order to buy Cadillac homeowners insurance. The worst thing that could possible happen to such a family in the end, is for their house to NOT burn down.
I do like the 2nd families plan though! We're looking at Costa Rica ourselves.

I would not live underground...I would not mind having a bunker for storage, but if I can't live above ground...well it will be time for the Lord to take me home! Prepping can become addictive, and you can not cover all the possible things that might or could happen...I pray about it and hope I am not being foolish, I don't feel foolish, but probably fools never do...I don't think you should suspend living today for what might happen...I do have concern for the children of some of these family's. I think there is a way of doing this with out putting the fear in them...street smart, but not terrified of the future...there will always be risk in life and danger.

But if it REALLY happened, they would REALLY be prepared.
I think this is sad because, for example, he gave up getting his pilot's license for this. What if they need a plane?? LOL! No, seriously, this is crowding out their dreams....
