Say Goodbye to FMD and HMD?

Credible sources are reporting a major restructuring of the Foreign Missions Division and Home Missions Division from this week's board meetings.

FMD reportedly will become World Missions
while HMD will become North American Missions

Many believe this will lead to an eventual merger of the both divisions while more cuts in redundant positions loom.

IMO, new emphasis needs to be placed on strengthening the North American church. The overseas missions are thriving while local churches are closing in droves.

It's fine to plant new works, but we need to strengthen "those that remain" as well.

One has to wonder what the plans are for CP425

I would think that the PIM system would work with North American missions as well ...

What would they do, travel the US to raise money to support their church?

Couldn't they do that now - - why would it have to be a "program" through WEC?

Furlough just gets under my skin for the Internationals - - they give them a break, but they have to spend the time traveling to raise money.

I've got to think they would rather have daughter churches funded by local churches than more financial strains on the constituency?

Traveling to get funds for a year is the most ludicrous thing about the FMD. Absolutely ludicrous.
