Teresa Lewis is dead.


The State of Virginia executes a 41 year old woman for "masterminding" the murder of her husband and step son.

She had an IQ of 70.

Mental Retardation is classified as having an IQ of 69 and lower.

The two young men who actually did the killing were given life sentences.

This just seems wrong to me.


The last time Virgina executed a woman, it was the year of 1912. She was a 17 year old black "woman" who was sent to the electric chair.

Her name was Virginia Christian. She was convicted of murder.

That whole story seems eerily ironic.


98 years later, Grandma Teresa Lewis is dead at the age of 41, executed by the hands of the government of the State of Virginia.

May God rest her soul.

I do have a problem with this execution...I am pretty conflicted when it comes to capitol punishment anyway.

Conflicted as in being more for it or against it? I am kinda torn between it myself. I think justice is a must, but not sure if that is the best way to go about it, etc.

An IQ of 70? Yes, that seems unnecessary.

The article says she "masterminded" the murders....with an IQ of 70....

Yeppers. We watch this on teevee. If one sees 3200 murders in a lifetime on teevee, it doesn't require a rocket scientist to think you can do one to get rid of a person.


I will break it down for Jermyn. IQ means Intelligence Quotient. Her age is for example 40 but her developed intelligence level is that of a 28 year old. Is a 28 year old capable of.......??? 28/40 = 70

Sorry it took so long to respond....I simply can hardly stand the idea of capitol punishment....and yet feel that Rom 13 gives the Law not only the right but the responsibility to use it....

I remember when it was reinstated years ago...and the 1st executions happened.
I would feel a low grade depression each time one came around.
This one really bothers me...not sure justice was done.
