If the length of one's American ancestral line is an indication of their American citizenship, then this article will prove to be an interesting read.

I am pretty confident that my "American" ancestral lines did not begin until the early 1800's, per my Grandmother, who was raised by her Grandparents who were born and raised as slaves by their slave parents who were not born in America.

Wouldn't it be cool if it were somehow showed that more than half of the "birthers" crowd have less of an American ancestry than our current President?

You know,

My anscestors were Dutch Mormons on one side and English on the other.

What they cannot or do not want to say is that on my mother's side there is some kinky curly hair that keeps popping up in our anscestry.

Also, my brother, when he went into the service, had to attend a special class that was to teach the black men how to shave without getting infections, because of their extreme curly facial hair. My brother was the only white guy there. The instructors told him that just didn't happen, unless of course the happened to be one in the tree somewhere in the past!

Got an Uncle that has african features and hair, but lily white skin.

I guess in every situation there is the interesting geneological ingredients.

Who knows, maybe me and Obama are cuzzins.

I don't have access to my genealogy or family tree.

From what I understand, my father was of Irish and some American Indian descent.
My mother was of German and English descent.

That's really all I've ever heard and anyone that knew anything else is dead now.

My Family tree goes back to the 1600's. in Virginia. My great, great, great grandfather fought in the Revolutionary war and then moved to Kentucky where he was land and slave owner. Most of my relatives fought on the side of the Union during the Civil war because by that time they had moved to Indiana and Illinois.
