Question UPC Report about President Bush

There is a report coming out of the WI district that President Bush received the HG just last month. Apparently a saint out of the Madison, WI church is a horse-dealer who happened to complete a transaction at the Bush ranch in TX recently. During this meeting it was reported that this saint was able to pray ?with/for? President Bush at which time he received the HG.

This report was shared by the former WI-DS during a recent WI minister's conference.... can anyone verify this as being true?

Weeelll, if it is true, the proof will be in the pudding.
Unless he keeps it hid he just made himself unpopular with the crowd he keeps.

With the passage of time it will become evident whether President Bush has received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.

If he has indeed received the Spirit Baptism, he will begin the implementation of a Canadian style Medicare system to alleviate the suffering of the American people.

I am appalled when I read stories of the unrelieved suffering of Americans who are not fortunate enough to have adequate medical coverage.

Basic health care is a fundamental human right. How can the richest nation on earth consider itself a Christian nation when hardworking Americans are denied relief of their suffering?

The American for-profit health care system was spawned in greedy capitalist hearts - the love of Christ constrains men to care for the suffering, not to profit from their pain.

If President Bush has received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, the suffering members of this forum, who are denied the dignity that more well-to-do Americans offer their pets, will be the first to know about it.

True.

WRONG! He would be violating the law by doing this since such a system is unconstitutional.

Under our Constitution is not the responsibility of the federal government to take care of people from cradle to grave.

Says who?

America is not, and has never been, a Christian nation.

And yet we still have the best health care system in the world. The love of Christ constrains MEN, not governments. It's not the government's job to take care of people from cradle to grave. Besides, if your system is so great, why are some Canadians having to wait up to a year just to get an MRI? Why are so many of them coming across the border to our side for such diagnostic testing?

I doubt that very much.

There are some fundamental differences in the socio economic makeup of the USA vs. Canada that makes your socialist health care system more viable.

For most of the world socialist healthcare has been an absolute disaster. Canada is blessed to have a largley homogenized, healthy, working population that helps keep it viable.

I have experienced British socialized healthcare first hand (well almost, my wife) and have read extensively about it. The quality of care and long waits for simple procedures like cat scans, MRI's etc have made private health care and private health insurance big business in Great Britain.

I for one prefer to be able to get needed care done quickly and efficiently rather than have my tax dollars spent ineffeciently by the government to cover lazy peoplw who either will not work for a living or who are not motivated enough to get the skills to get a job that has health insurance coverage.

Having said that if for one second I beleived that the Federal Government could efficiently and with high quality provide universal health care I would be on board. History has shown the government does very few things well.

MapleLeaf,

BTW Dan Scott is alluding to this kind of socialist ........ also. The day Christianity is equated to helping those who are too lazy to help themselves is a sad day.

I don't find anywhere in the Bible or the United States Constitution that says it is the Federal Governments responsibility to take care of us from cradle to grave.

The Bible talks a lot about the church helping people but I don't see where it dictates the government be our mommy and daddy.

The church is the hands, feet, arms, hands, heart, etc. of Jesus.
We are to clothe the naked, feed the poor, heal the sick, lodge the homeless etc. However there is one requirement in 2 Thessalonians 3:10.
