Facing the Giants
I just saw this video last night. My husband brought it home from Blockbuster Video unaware that a church had made the film with two cameras and a $100,000? budget.
It was very interesting and had a lot of good thoughts and messages in it. However, I am a wee bit troubled by the end in which everything is so neatly sewn together. If only real life were so easy...
But overall very impressed with what a church did to reach this Hollywood focused generation... I look forward to seeing what they do next.
So rent the video and sit down with your family. It's nice to see Christianity (and decency) portrayed in a movie as a normal fact of life. And its a great way to vote with your pocket book.

LadyRev showed this video to her youth group and invited certain adults as well. After the movie, we had the kids pray for a few minutes and us adults went around and prayed with them. It was very nice and we had fun too.
Our pastor asked the church tonight if anyone else was interested in watching it on Tuesday night. Many people raised their hands, including the kids! So we are viewing it again before it's due to go back to Movie Gallery.

From the award-winning producers of FLYWHEEL comes a new, action-packed, family-friendly drama about a high school football coach who draws up a new game plan for his team … and himself.
In his six years of coaching, Grant Taylor has never had a winning season. Even the hope of a new season is squelched when the best player on his Shiloh Eagles decides to transfer schools. After losing their first three games of the season, the coach discovers a group of fathers are plotting to have him fired. Combined with pressures at home, Coach Taylor has lost hope in his battle against fear and failure.
However, an unexpected challenge helps him find a purpose bigger than just victories. Daring to trust God to do the impossible, Coach Taylor and the Eagles discover how faith plays out on the field … and off.
With God, all things are possible …

Excellent movie! Worth seeing more than once. Some of my youth group kids agree.

My husband and I were talking about how the commericals and all the sitcoms NEVER have a normal family setting.

I saw this movie this weekend. I thought it was good.
Although in the real world it doesn't always turn out the way you want it to.
But it had a good story line.

I saw it. I'm not sure I can say I liked it. I like what they were trying to portray, ( Matthew 6:33) but overall, I thought it was kind of cheesy. Sorry.
