Is sex before marrage a sin if you marry the person?

I heard it this way, You have intercourse and from that time until the time you marry the person, you are in sin....You are a fornicator until you are married.....then you are redeemed...

I hope it wasn't a gospel preacher that said that....the ONLY thing that redeems is the blood of Jesus. If we sin, we confess our sins and he is faithful and just to cleans us of our sins

I meant redeemed as in, you were no longer a fornicator!

No, you're still a fornicator because you fornicated. If there is no repentance and, thus, no forgiveness, you remain in your sin.

If repentance means to forsake the sin committed, then for the couple fornicating before marriage, upon getting married are no longer fornicating because they are now married and the intimacy is inside the marriage vows.

So, they HAVE repented of the sin of fornication by getting married.

Is sex before marriage sin? YES!

I don't agree that one is automatically redeemed just because one gets married. One must actually repent of one's sin (meaning not just to be sorry for it but to forsake the sin). Marriage does not redeem, the blood of Christ redeems - and even then it only redeems those who repent.

You are married to the person that you have sex with, ceremony or not.
