Weren't all Gentiles considered dogs? not just the women!!!!!

metaph. a man of impure mind, an impudent man, Strongs

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Rev 22:14-15

"For without" anyone outside the gate, the church. And prior to the NT church a dog would be anyone outside the Jewish faith.

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: Eph 2:11-12 IOW, they were dogs! Men and women, both.

You're becoming unbalanced, PP.

Mizpeh, it was a poor attempt at humor and your post is, of course, perfectly correct. Sorry I offended you and Mal.

You didn't offend me! I knew you were jokingly trying to stir the pot. Seriously, no offence taken.

PastorPoster, I know many great, outstanding Christian women. I think your implication is tasteless and without class.
I know some Christian ladies that have more anointing in their little pinky than you've probably experienced in your lifetime.

Jesus obviously understood the culture he lived in and was i believe testing her to see if she could get past the bigotry herself, and of course we know she responded with faith and he rewarded her, he was not trying to belittle her, society in this case jewish society had allready done that, but she rose to her level of need and touched him, dt

Good points.

Could it have been an attitude check? It probably happened for the same reason Naaman the Leper, in 2KINGS 5, had to go dunk in the Jordan seven times.
