52 People Baptized in Jesus Name this Weekend
This weekend was one our Praise & Worship / Bapistmal weekends usually held quarterly. On these weekends we have a special extended time of Praise & Worship on Friday night We clear out the chairs and we try to cram folks from all three of our Sunday services into the building. The music usually goes on for about 3 to 3 1/2 hours and culminates with baptisms.
The theme of the weekend carries over to Sunday where the Sunday sermon at the three services is a lesson on baptism then again people are offered the opportunity to be baptized in Jesus Name.
Tonight after the third service concluded we have baptized 52 people this weekend in Jesus Name! Always great to see people identify with Christ in the waters of baptism.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: 52 People Baptized in Jesus Name this Weekend
That is a wonderful report CC1! Always wonderful to hear of those who have been baptized into the body of Christ!
Just wondering - what kind of help will your church provide to these new believers to help get grounded them in the Word, and walking with the Lord?
Because one of the problems with OP is that once people get the HG and baptized, sometimes they are forgotten about, and discipleship fails to help them stay grounded, and to continue on in the faith.
Something to try would be an idea like this - an anniversary service to mark those who have made it 1 year serving the Lord after being baptized into the body of Christ.

There are a lot of different resources for new people to get plugged into the church and learn. In addition to our mid week small groups we off "Experience University" classes on a variety of subjects including apologetics. There is not a new converts class as such at this time but a lot of learning opportunties outside of the main Sunday service for all persons.
We have very simple services that we don't deviate from and we feel like that is one of the reasons for our phenomenal growth. Our services are simply announcements, a time of praise & worship, the lesson which is the Bible verse by verse chapter by chapter book by book, an invitation to prayer and communion (every Sunday). In the approx. four years at this church I could count on one hand the number of times anything additional has been added. No guest singers, no guest preachers, no birthday songs, no offering (during announcements the tithe/ offering bowls are pointed out for people to give after the service).
