Romney supports minimum wage hike-why we lost 2012

Because many could see through his fake conservative veneer!

"Well, different members of my party have different views on those different issues," Romney replied. "I part company with many of the conservatives in my party on the issue of minimum wage. I think we ought to raise it."

Yes, because you are a Democrat in sheep's clothing. Mr. "Severely Conservative" is nothing but a liar.

He struck me as a sleezy fake used car salesman type. I went in with an open mind and wanted to vote for the best candidate regardless of party.

Also regarding the minimum wage hike, why not raise it? No serious industry would be effected at all. If we raise the minimum wage to where people make enough to get off welfare services, thus saving the govt money, whats the issue?

A system needs to be implemented so that minimum wage is automatically adjusted every three years or so-- after minimum wage is brought up to date.

Do you see my point though? Wouldnt that get people off the govt assistance if they make a liveable wage?

I agree that it would get some people off of public assistance, but not all.

My support for a minimum wage adjustment is based out of a desire to do the right thing.

Most of the people I know that are on food stamps, section 8, welfare ect also work. They work at places like fast food joints and walmart. It would go along way to help those people get off govt assistance.

Raising the minimum wage would interfere with young people getting jobs by destroying entry-level opportunities. We don't want to destroy their opportunity to start climbing the ladder of success and working their way into more skilled positions.

We have subsidies, cronyism and regulation that are creating a culture of dependency. Government regulation, like minimum wage, holds people back.

The government also keeps throwing obstacles of regulation in the way of people, with little capital, wanting to start up a business.

You can only prosper if you have a free society and especially economic freedom.

Ya no govt regulation is needed. GOPers paint this picture that without regulation the country would be better. Cause you now the rich who we owe our vary existence as human beings to, can be trusted to do whats right for the working people and the environment. We dont need regs up the wazoo. However Govt regulation is needed for some things

I agree that a limited amount of government regulation is needed. I did agree with Romney, during the debates, that we certainly don't need someone starting a bank in their garage. But, the point is that we are unnecessarily over-regulated and it is stifling a free economy.

John Mackey and Raj Sisodia wrote an excellent book that every American businessman should read - Conscious Capitalism, Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business. It's a great read!

They argue for the inherent good of both business and capitalism. Not to be mistaken with "crony capitalism". They show how today's best-known companies illustrate how these two forces - business and capitalism - work most powerfully to create value for all stakeholders: customers, employees, suppliers, investors, society and the environment.
