Today, I am a Christian

I went to work the other day. Our company was involved in a dispute with one of our clients regarding transactions. (Sorry, but that is all I can tell due to the proprietary nature of my work.)
I wanted to see things resolved and felt like we had reached a milestone. I spoke with my boss and he agreed. He gave me some guidelines on how to proceed which were very good. But, as I approached their door, I decided that "Today, I am a Christian". I decided to be as Christ-like as possible to see things get back to normal.
I walked in and began to converse with one of the princials involved. We had a great talk and things are now going to resume as they were prior to this issue.

It dawned on me the simplicity of the thought "Today, I am a Christian". How often do we allow ourselves to get away with so much carnality, then later have to repent. Oh, I know none of us here deal with this, but maybe others who may read this do.

I have decided that if I am to live a repentant life, then I no longer have the leeway to get carnal and then go repent for isn't that negating the value of repentance in that we are just willfuly sinning thus endangering God's grace? If sin abounds in my life, it doesn't justify me to continue if I refuse to deal with the issues in me.

Today, I am a Christian.

Yesterday is gone, never to return. Tommorrow is not even guaranteed. All I have is today.

Today, I am a Christian.

I must make the most of today. I must make sure that I walk circumspectly. I must make sure that my life brings glory and not shame to my God. I must allow my light to shine.

All I have to do that in is today.

I'm learning the depths of what that means recently... and it's helping me.
