Jordan's Queen Rania on Arab women

Queen Rania of Jordan has a youtube channel that she uses to try and dispel Arab stereotypes.

The video below is one of her videos and this one is on the subject of Arab women.

I like her channel and I think she does a great service to try and address these things.

Queen Rania
I wonder if her position comes from being treated like a Queen?

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) -- A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

Did you watch the video?

All nations and religions have an element that operates under their name that do not represent the mainstream. What if someone put a similar video up about Christianity and it was "countered" by a story about snake handlers or child molesting priests?

Neither snake handlers nor child molesting priests are indicative of America or Christianity. But they certainly do exist. And someone who is anti-American or anti-Christian can certainly drum up a few articles and put forward that these things are, indeed, the norm in America and Christendom.

She said that things similar to what you have quoted happen about 20 times a year in Jordan.

The story you quoted was about 15 months old. So you missed another 20 or so.

Perhaps there are other stories out there that cover progress in that area? Where there none? Or were you only looking for an article to show this side?

Voices Behind the Veil
Mar 23–24, 2009 - comments: 1

Today Dr. Land’s special guests are Dr. and Mrs. Ergun Caner. Dr. Caner was raised as a Sunni Muslim, and he became a Christian as a young man in Ohio through the ministry of a fellow classmate. He has been a guest with us before on the broadcast talking with great understanding about the world of Islam.

Today he joins us again to discuss the book which he has edited titled, Voices Behind the Veil: The World of Islam Through the Eyes of Women. Joining him is his wife, Jill, who is an author of one of the chapters in this book. Mrs. Caner has a degree in Justice and Public Policy and is the author of numerous articles on mothers in Islam. We are delighted that she will be joining her husband today for this discussion.

Actually I listened to A Muslim that converted and is now representing christian apologetics.

The Queen offers great Propaganda.

My large family invested in a School, mission, missionaries etc in a Muslim country in the 1950's We supported my relatives as a family without church support since then. We have had property siezed by a King and also seen the Lord work. I recall some new convets coming to the states to flee from a death sentence.
I am familiar with the Quran. I understand the Bible is both prescriptive and descriptive. Their "holy" book is pure prescriptive. The queen is speaking against what the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) orders as duties. I have traveled to the Arab Nations and am familiar with the evangelistic movements in Northern Europe and the U.s.

I realize the war within Islam and know they as individual groups call themselves mainstream and keep killing eachother.

The King has some western ties and his wife wants to promote tourism which they need.

Why don't we let amnesty Intgernational give a view of their human rights records.

And a little link for you regarding what people are trying to achieve for fair treatment of domestic women as workers.

In American there is a HUGE HUGE outcry against child molestation.

What they need is not a youtube channel but an international condemnation by Islamic leaders and nations including the fat Saudi kings, princes and clerics against this stuff and to start putting financial, political and religious pressure on these other islamic nations

Moral of the story, if you are a 13 year old girl and get gang raped by three muslim men, be a good little muslim girl and don't say anything. The problem is when or if she ever gets married and it is discovered she is not a virgin they will accuse her of adultery and stone her anyways

Pro choice???

She can choose to accept the rape or choose to get stoned later.
