Ferd, I don't mean to be argumentative....I'm just telling you that for me, I don't need a wedding ring to prove to myself or anyone else that I'm married...If you and your wife do, that's your business - but please don't condemn me for NOT wearing one. :-)
condemn you? where in the world did you get that?
it seemed to me, you were doing the condeming (if anyone was) in expressing your strong opinion that my pastors reasoning was flawed.
I respect anyone's convictions. I dont need everyone to do like me, for me to feel good about my faith.

A person knows whether a woman or man is married (and not looking) by the actions...
Again, your words were what I was responding to.
I have a feeling I know who you are. Do you or did you live in Texas or Oklahoma?
Sis, you haven't responded to whether you are over 30 or are married? I still stand by saying that "conduct" speaks louder than a "wedding band" on whether or not a person "acts married".
Blessing and love in Christ...I meant no harm, Sis. Not sure why you are asking me so many questions. ???
I am a professional woman who maintains a good weight..I still have all my teeth....My hair hasn't fallen out, but is a little thinner...I don't have zits anymore and not an overabundance of wrinkles......It may be hard for you to believe, but I'm not considered unattractive, even though I am over 50...I've had "flirtations" directed toward me in my 20s, my 30s, my 40s, and I know it may be hard for you to believe but even in my 50s....As far as being friendly, It's OK to be friendly....People should know their boundaries and have the Holy Ghost to direct them. ...Different things work for different people, Sis. I don't want to wear a wedding band. I respect your right to wear one if you do. Are you married?
Again, what I said wasn't meaning to be offensive, and I believe you are attractive for your age, as I know many people in their later years, both male and female, who are. But still in all, they are older and it's evident. There aren't a whole lot of 50+ women who speak about getting 'hit on'. That was my point.l
It could well be that you would think differently if you were a married woman in her 20's and 30's today.

It may see archaic and ridiculous to you, but for ME, I don't wish to wear a wedding band. ...Things were pretty wild back in the 70s and 80s when I was in my 20s and 30s and I didn't wear one then either.

I answered that question before you asked, actually.
I'm over 30 and going through a divorce. While married, I went several places without my husband and my ring spoke as to my availability. I don't flirt, but neither do I 'act married' (whatever that means). I just act like a regular kind of gal, no different than I do now that I'm not as unavailable as I was a few years ago.
You seem to think if a person doesn't 'act married', they are flirting instead. There is a way to just act like a human and a Christian without advertisement either direction.
As for questions, I believe I only asked one. Make that two. I asked if you've ever lived in OK or TX.

It appears that you are offended, so I will cease conversing with you.
Have a good day.
