and for all those that are lost someone/s will be lost for not going to them...scary thought...It is easy to say they are lost harder to take the responsibility to take the gospel...I have 2 preachers that are in need tonight...while Americans spend so much money on things...

In addition to a blatent misapplication of scripture. Legalists removed the ancienct landmarks long ago. The "landmarks" moving should not be moved period. History shows legalists have taken liberty with removing biblical principle and replacing them with their narrow subjective opinion.

Funny how you quote the passage in Galatians when the other gospel Paul was talking about was salvation through legalism. When the passage is taken in context, legalism is a curse and those who advocate it should be cursed. It appears God has little tolerance for legalsim.

There are numerous sources to validate Sam's claims. The UPCI has done some heavy revisions on its history, which includes the history of 1 step.

To think that the apostolic church only existed in the first few centuries and then died out completely and then started up again from scratch by those who were getting little glimpses of truth after repenting out of Catholicism is just not true.

Brother I don't know where you are getting your information from and if its from the charismatic authors, then I would say to get rid of that stuff, because it just isn't true. Do some more research and get you some better sources.

Your right, all it did in the longterm was to grind up PCI brothers into hamburger meat over the years, isolate and destroy brothers like Yadon (who was the longest serving general board member of the UPCI ever, if my memory serves), and make it so that strong 3 stepper ABI (and later bible school) grads could take over the PCI churches as the pastors got older to make the UPCI into the happy body of believers it is today.

I know Brother Light to be a trueful man so perhaps he knows more than some of us. I know he knows more than I do for I have never been UPC and do not even know the people being discussed.
It would seem to me that a fellowship as tight as the UPC has been would have some guidelines about the new birth...however I speak as an outsider.

You do realize your first scripture quoted above does NOT say "Except a man be born AGAIN" as many Oneness people misquote it? Of course a man is "born of water" as that is the natural birth from a womans womb and then later is born of the Spirit when he accepts Christ as his saviour.
