I guess I am more of the mindset that everyone is worth saving. Wonder if it was your son in this situation?

I don't see it as a matter of being worth saving.
Every soul is precious.
Why would Paul give the advice he gave?
Debate doesn't convince a person who is spiritually deceived.
I didn't say we shouldn't pray for them; it just seems counter-productive to continue engaging on an intellectual level what is a spiritual issue.
I have committed to pray regularly for Daniel because I revere his father's memory, and because I like him, and because I feel prompted in the Spirit to pray for him.
But I am pretty much through arguing doctrine with him.
If it were my son (God forbid) I believe I would take the same tactic.
I did in fact with some immediate family members who followed their pastor into charismatic error. I debated until I figured out they weren't intellectually convinced as much as they were spiritually deceived.
So I shut down the arguing and started praying.
Before long, the snake that had led them astray was revealed to have been in a multi-year adulterous affair, including the time frame when he got all his great revelations of glorious liberty and doctrinal ambiguity.
They are recovering now from the wreckage of all that junk.
I hope and pray Daniel does also.
