When You Pray
Please mention my name........I know this should be (will be moved to) in the "Prayer Request" area......but I know some may not go to that part of the forum and I am asking all that will to help us pray......I know God hears and answers prayer.
Last Memorial Day, I had a massive heart attack (a 100% blockage of the LAD better known as the widow maker) due to the fact that they advised me to stop taking Plavix and a clot formed in a stent. The cath-lab nurses were surprised the next morning when they came in and saw how well I was doing. They actually told me that they were all afraid that I would not make it through the procedure and if I did that I may not make it through the night. My heart suffered major damage and immediately after the heart attack my ejection fraction (the pumping efficiency of the heart) was 30-35%. They told me that as the heart healed that number would increase some. It did.....up to around 40%. (Incidentally the normal EF range is 55-70%)
Over the last few months I have felt, for the most part, pretty good with just a few episodes of chest pain, but all blood work reported everything was fine. My new cardiologist wanted to do a heart cath (which he did Tuesday) so that he could see what was really going on.
Here is where I need prayer. He told me that my heart is very weak. Just since October when the EF was near 40% it is now between 25-30% and getting worse. The heart has enlarged trying to compensate which makes it less efficient. He has doubled some of my medication to lower my blood pressure under 100. (my BP is typically between 100-110/60-70) which he says may allow my heart to remodel back down in size and improve the EF. Otherwise they will have to insert an internal defibrillator and my heart will continue to get worse until it gives out.
I know the Lord is able! He has done so many miracles in my life. But I am really battling doubt and depression on this one. We are in revival, and so many positive things are happening. Not trying to be a whiner, I just covet your prayers over the next 4-6 months as we see how this will progress.
God Bless
