The Bible Mini Series Sneak Peek!
I have been at the Catalyst Conference in Atlanta today and will be there tomorrow for part of the day also (mixing a business trip with attending the conference)
Today one of the guests was tv producer Mark Burnett who created Survivor and has brought a lot of other reality tv shows to tv like The Voice, etc. He is married to the British woman who starred in the Touched By An Angel tv series years ago.
Mark and his wife have been working on a 10 hour mini series for The History Channel called The Bible. It will air in 2013. It covers major events in both the Old and New Testaments.
At Catalyst we were the first group outside of a handful of people to see a six minute sneak peek of the mini series. They had everybody promise to not to video tape thes screens with their phones because they don't want any footage out to the public until the end of the year or beginning of next.
It was WONDERFUL!!!!! The first four minute clip was a montage of Old Testament scenes with a little NT. The second clip was a 2 minute clip of when Jesus meets Peter and gets in the boat with him, causes his nets to be full, then asks him to follow him to become a fisher of men. It was very well done and I had goose bumps watching it. They cast a Portuguese actor to play Jesus and it was very good casting. He is not known in America so you don't look at him and think of some other role.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
