When was the last time you made someone's day?!

When was the last time you went out of your way to speak a kind word to a family member, friend, co-worker, or neighbor?!

When was the last time you sent a 'Just thinking of you' email or card...made a phone call or dropped a line by way of 'snail mail'?!

When was the last time you gave a moment to prayer for someone not usually on your prayer list?!

When was the last time you made someone's day?!

Let this day find us looking for opportunities to bring a moment of Sonshine into the life of others.

It doesn't take much...just a word can make a difference, if only for today.

Yesterday,

I'm a security access and badging coordinator with a local airport and I was outside on break enjoying the snowy weather. I saw a family drive up to the front of the terminal and get out of their car. As they gathered their bags the driver, an older woman, began to clean her windshield wiper on the driver's side. Suddenly her windshield wiper came off! Her daughter began to help her and her daughter's husband was on a cell phone. Suddenly he said, "They're boarding now." The woman and her mother looked panicked because they didn't have time to help her mom with the windshield wiper. I stepped in and said, "I can help her while you catch your flight." They were so greatful and I helped the older woman with her windshield wiper.

That was the last time I made someone's day.

This week! brought my co-worker a starbucks coffee cake slice for breakfast - she was very surprised!

Christmas my dad told a story of his most memorable Christmas. He received a 1932 Ford toy car with working headlights. He played under the bed all day just so he could see the lights.

I found a replica of the car on e-Bay and bought it for him and I'll give it to him tomorrow. I'm thinking it'll make his day.

I did the same thing for my husband's Christmas - He wanted a Mattel Fanner Fifty with the holster - found one online and he had talked about Peter Rabbit playing cards that he and his "papaw" had played over and over when he was a child - when he saw those cards, he said tears came to his eyes - best Christmas gifts I've ever given him!!
