At work when I am in the field I must wear a necktie, it is regulation if I wish to retain my Job (scope of employment) I am a federal Officer. At work I do not wear one, they wish I did, but it is not required, and the union protects that right.

In Revelation I focused on jewelry because this is the theme of the thread, at the end of my thread you will notice I did mention clothing. I did not want to sway away from the topic.

And thank you for your post, and the warm fuzzies, fuzzies are cool. :thumbsup

I implore you, regardless of what the Bible says, to wear your medic alert necklace!!

Are your rings set in something like a paperweight? I've never seen that, but it sounds cool.

I think that most men would rather not wear a necktie. My point was that neckties are merely ornamentation, as jewelry also is.

Thanks for the answers though. And good thing warm fuzzies aren't against the Bible! LOL!

Ya she had them put in resin then it sits on a lit base and spins slowly, it is kinda cute when its the only thing lit on her desk.

Behind the rings is a portrait of my wife and I on each side of her mother in the hospital, she was terminal with cancer, so the wife and I were married at her bedside, it gave her mother alot of comfort before she passed, she passed a day later.

:thumbsup

I am usually on the near-militant side of believing that a wedding ring is not only honorable but almost required.

But.... I really like the idea of displaying the wedding bands in a shiny spinning ornament on a desk. Kudos for your creativity!

I must confess, my wife is the one with the creative touch. But thank you for the compliment, I will pass it on. :thumbsup

But wait you need to check the meaning of the word "not" again. this particular word does not mean "not ever" it means that those things should not be the how a women is to show holiness. It does not mean she cannot wear it. I don't say this for you though I am not trying to change your mind or any other persons mind. But just getting the children of God to quit taking everything said as the word of God but to seek out their own salvation with fear and tembling.
Some times you have to read deeper than the first word of a definition.

No, the women at our church do not braid their hair [the ones who obey the Bible, at least], since God-breathed Scripture is very clear on this.

You say, "It does not mean that she cannot wear it [jewelry, presumably]." You are saying the exact opposite of what the Bible says. Who would simply read those verses & say, "Okay, God is okay w/ me wearing jewelry!"? No one w/ an honest heart.

Yet it's ok for us to wear clothing...

1Pe 3:3
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

Peter must be shaking his head in disbelief.
