Sometimes those spirits inhabit individuals. If one thinks this is personal think again. Many are shocked that I take such an active defense of Bill Price in this case. Especially since our history isn't all that pleasant. But something in my spirit rose up with holy anger when that smug condenscending attitude was displayed. I may never agree with WP, but I will defend him against the autrocites of legalism. The guy's spiritual foundation has been shaken. Some of it may be his fault for trying to appease these people, but one thing I hope this lesson teaches him is one cannot appease a person with a legalistic spirit. They won't rest until they control his soul.
I have seen the carnage left by people of their ilk. It's not acceptable to me.

To a lib or mod he represents what an extreme ultra con to be. To a con or ultra con, he represents what they DON'T want to be associated with. That, plus he is fun to play with.
AND THIS is any better than what he is alleged to be???

I do know bro reckart and must say that he believes he is on a mission from God to point out any sin. I feel he is misguided and although I may agree with his stand on certain doctrines, I disagree with his methodologies.
I personally teach why I don't do X and not why you should not. If you are a christian and I have biblical reasons for what I believe, I can win you better by not attacking you personally but with an open minded debate in a christian attitude.
I believe that Bro Reckart has a kind side as well. If you know anything about him, he cares for his wife who is both diabetic and blind. He spends his own money to go to the philipenes and africa to preach the gospel. When he is doing these things, he is a very happy man. It is when he is back in the states with too much time on his hands that he becomes unbearable. One preacher I know said "Reckart should stay in africa because at least he is doing a fine work for the Lord". I don't want to make that judgement on what he should be doing. I just wanted to present a softer side. I think his antics are irresponsible and even cruel sometimes but we all have our demons to face.
This is a good post. I have known Bro Reckart pretty much my whole life. While I feel he is overly abrasive at times, I also know that he has a love for Truth, and loves people. His "hate" is directed towards ways that he sees as false ways, and he fights for the cause.
I am not his champion, but from what I see a few of you have attitudes just like you accuse him of having. You say you hate legalism, but then you attach the man himself.

"Attacking the man" isn't "legalism," though it's probably not the best way to go either.
My impression is that people like the gentleman in question are motivated more by the desire to get attention than the hate that comes out in their message.
