Rev George L Pike

Are any of you familiar with the Rev George Pike. I worked with a guy a few
years ago, that was a follower of his. He was always bringing his tracks to
work. It appeared he espoused a lot of strange ideas.
I am curious if he is an offshoot of Brannanism. The guy that I worked with
was strange himself. He actually believed the "never die" doctrine.

Yes, George Pike was a follower of Branham. Yes, he taught many strange things. There is a "commune" about 40 miles from me that he started.

Many weird tales have come forth, a girl that I graduated with married his son.

Her father was extremely knowledgeable about scripture, but still one of the most confused men I have ever met.

One of the stories goes that whoever lived there was permitted to work outside the "commune", but their paycheck had to be turned over to leadership. They were then issued currency that was good only on the commune. Is this true? I don't know, but it is a predominant rumor.

George Leon Pike (better known as God to some) was a hybrid between Branhamism-Terrellism-Jaggersism. He baptized into eternal life claiming you couldn't die although he is dead. A 'friend'(some friend) got to preach there once when I was young. All I can say is the whole bunch was nuts. His followers believed he was God and he encouraged it. They printed their own currency, one goofy guy tried to spend it at a local store the store owner called in the feds. It was an experience to say the least. I don't know who is in control now? His son had it for awhile but got ousted.

Re: Rev George L Pike

Who was Rev George L. Pike?

He is known differently depending on who you ask ‘he has many images depending on the minds comprehension of the person you are asking”

But he had a true image that very few ever saw even though they looked at him face to face…Because even though they seen him they never
Comprehended what they were seeing, even though they heard him most never heard anything he was actually saying - they only thought they did….

No I am not lifting him up at all – there are many of his types standing near us and we see them not either for who they are!! Even though some think we do..

Many people read his writings and get nothing from them and find fault…..

We could say he was a male born in a certain town and he was named by his parents “George”. We could then tell you how he grew up and had to leave the army because of hardship at home with his family…

We could tell you how he loved music and wrote thousands of songs (or) how he loved his family and was the best dad and husband ever in their eyes….

We could tell you how he was a pastor/president of an organization that never belonged to him…

We could tell you his life story but you would never believe it - for it does not fit into the normal way of thinking….

But if he was here to tell you “who he was”- this is what he would say “IT IS NOT IMPORTANT WHO I AM PEOPLE - NOT AT ALL”!!

Then he would say something like this:

• This little saying sums up “all of humanity” and “God” and “you” – “even your very breath of life, when you unwrap it right “

The saying:

• I stand in amazement at all people that have gotten distracted by the wrappings of life and not the life within the wrappings...the wrappings like Christmas paper glitter and sparkle thus the child enjoys the wrappings….but the big kid (someone that has grown up not just in the knowledge but wisdom) sees the gift within the wrappings and knows it holds more than the wrappings and throws away the wrappings or lays it aside to gift someone else

He would then say…. you know who the greatest people on earth are? The ones that realize “when they think they know it all – they know absolutely nothing – and have just begun to be able to be able to be taught”….
He would say “How do I know this? – “because that is how I learned!”

Yes to some he was God, because they needed something tangible to make for their God - as they could never comprehend the real God he was in tune with. This made him very sad that they could not get past his flesh and their flesh and see what he was really saying… and chose to see him as God….They were so busy thinking they knew and they missed the whole purpose of him….

But he gave his life and left a message within his words… while 1000’s read it and they judge it wrongly. For they hear it not. Even though having ears they hear not and having eyes they see not as the bible says….But the ones that actually hear it….no matter who they come in contact with after they really have heard it- they bring goodness to all they come in contact with!!!

Ones that think they know it and what he taught are not bad – or wrong - they are just still caught up in the wrappings of the glittering paper! They have not yet tasted the REAL THING!

But there is a book being published that will explain better “his message”! It will be like a decoder to let you into his works!! Not that his message was a secret - so much as it was something that don’t fit with regular thinking or religious thinking…thus when one read’s it - they hear it through their own truth filter and what they already know…thus it contaminates what is being said…..(not because your truth filter is wrong) just because that is how his writings work…if you just read them literally they mean nothing!!

I like this username "Hesetmefree238". I can also happily say that I've been set free from believing that Acts 2:38 is the only verse in the bible.

Re: Rev George L Pike

Food for thought!

It is sad how that people trip out when one is different than them... They never imagine the diffence might be the very thing they seek ...that keeps eluding them..
and be the answers to all of their life's questions...because they are so busy seeing what they need as different...(duh if it was like you then you would have the answers!!!)
So maybe different is needed for you to find what you are looking for

If so many thought he was god, then why didn't correct them? Or was it like Brian from "The Life of Brian":

Brian: "I am not the Messiah. I am not the Messiah. I am NOT the Messiah!"

Man in crowd (John Cleese): "Yes you are and I should know, I followed a few...."

Lady in crowd: "Only the "true" messiah denies his divinity."

"Oh what does that leave me with then! Ok, I AM the Messiah!"

Crowd screams: "HE IS THE MESSIAH!"

Brian: "Now.... ***** off!"

Man in crowd: "How shall we ***** oh lord?"

Re: Rev George L Pike

Yes life is a catch 22 if you say you are not "GOD" then they scream at you ...if you say you are GOD then they crucify you..how can one win? Easy don't worry how others see you... be who you are ...if you are a true GOD it will speak for itself

But first before you say you are ..or ...you are not....or before you say George L Pike was or was not a GOD....

Please know who and what a God is : ) otherwise you are not qualified to say if he was or was not lol
