CONSIDER HIM (Heb 12:3)
CONSIDER HIM
Heb 12:3
(Abraham)...” considered NOT “... , his and Sarah’s dead bodies. ( Rom 4:19), He didn’t think long about the fact that his ninety-nine year old body was dead, nor did he think long about the fact that Sarah’s ninety year old body was past the time of child bearing.
The word “consider” means: “to meditate on or think long on some subject”.
What then did Abraham consider? What subject did he...” meditate and think long on.”? He thought on God’s faithfulness. (Vs 21) “... that, what he (God) had promised, he was able also to perform.”
What also did Sarah consider? What subject did she... “meditate and think long on.” ? She thought on God’s faithfulness. ( Heb 11:11) ...”she judged him faithful who had promised.”
Do you think you have a bigger problem, than Abraham and Sarah ‘s ? Here were two dead people, trying to have a baby. (Vs 12) “Therefore sprang there even of one and him as good as dead,...”
Whatever your problem, the answer is the same as Abraham and Sarah’s. CONSIDER HIM, “meditate on and think long on”... him and what he did for you on the cross. SEE HIM on the cross, taking our infirmities and bearing our sickness, swallowing up our sins and our poverty.
REMEMBERING HIM, that he owed us nothing thru debt. We did not deserve his grace. It was his great love, wherewith he loved us, that caused him to offer us “...exceeding great and precious promises” (1 1 Peter 1:4).
“ Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” ( Heb 12:2) Faith is what happens, automatically, when you look to Jesus. Faith is what happens after, we get the image of him, into the random access memory of our minds, and then by CONSIDERING and MEDITATING on that image, it gets saved on the hard drives, of our hearts.

Too often we "consider" our problems, sickness, lack of resources instead of "on Him". So instead of getting what He promised, we get what we "consider". Great word, big-lad.

I used to think that faith, for healing, came by a formula. Now I can see that my faith is almost worthless, because it is not consistant. My faith wanes and wavers, it comes and goes. You won't get anything from God with wavering faith.( Jas 1:6-7) Looking at Jesus overcomes all hinderances.
Just look at Jesus. Use the faith that is by Him. ( Acts 3:16) In Heb 12:2, the word "your" is added by the translators. Therefore; the verse could just as easily read, "looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of faith". When did He author faith? When he died. When did He finish faith? When He rose from the dead. It's His (Jesus') faith. Look at Jesus. In your mind, just visualize Him, as He suffered for our infirmities.
Don't waste your time looking at anything else, just look at Jesus. The more you see Jesus, the more your problems will fade away. The more clearly you see Jesus, the less clear you sickness will become.

O Magnify! (make Him appear bigger), The LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together. ( Ps 34:3)
"But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory." ( II Cor 3:18)

Re: CONSIDER HIM (Heb 12:3)
Brother Larry,
When we consider Him, we try to be like Him. He is our example. The servant is not greater than his master.
I've been struggling with some things coming against me lately and I've decided just to praise God as a demonstration of my faith in Him. I'm going to rejoice in all my tribulation. If we believe God is truly God and works all things out for our good, then I'm going to trust Him and worship Him.
Thanks for this uplifting post.
I will bless the Lord at ALL times, his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in thee Lord, the humble shall hear thereof and be glad......

To be a servant of God, it will cost us our total commitment to God, and God alone. His burden must be our burden... Sis Alvear
